I am sure you might have heard the news. Yes! India had banned 59 Chinese apps!!. But why do you think the Indian government banned these apps? It is said that this ban has been enforced under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. It says “Power to issue directions for blocking for public access of any information through any computer resource”. India did this due to concerns that the apps were engaging in activities that threatened the “National security and Defence of India”.
